LOST AT SEA - SHILDON DEFENCE. IF FOUND PLEASE RETURN TO DEAN STREET.
Shields threatened straight from the kick off, with an early chance. Then after only 4 mins.Hutton conceded a penalty which the home side gratefully accepted. Shildon retaliated with a through ball from new signing Stewart Morris, which Warren Byrne duly blasted over.
The game was then held up for several minutes while Keith Finch, Shildon's goalkeeper, received lengthy treatment for what appeared to be a dislocated finger.
Shildon's defence had not settled at all when Walklate again lost the ball in midfield to present Shields with their 2nd goal.
Shield's Scroggins was yellow carded for foul play followed shortly afterwards by Morris for kicking the ball away
Shildon at last pushed forward with a through ball from Mark Tinkler which Warren Bryne eagerly despatched past Andrew Clark in the Shields goal. to bring Shildon back into the game at 2 - 1 after 35 mins.
The Railwaymen were again shunted back to their own goal line where Gowland lost the ball to allow another cross and another chance.
Sam Garvie closed a very disappointing half with a shot well wide.

After 57 mins. Chris Bell replaced Stewart Morris.
Shields front men were causing the Shildon's defence no end of trouble and when Stephen Ramsey robbed John Hutton, waltzed around him to strike the ball low into the net for 3 - 1 on 58 mins.
Two minutes later another midfield mistake sets Anthony Coe free but Keith Finch made a good diving save to the right.
After 69 mins. good play tore Shildon apart once again and the cross from the right presented Scroggins with a clear header, which should have made it 4 for Shields.
Shildon continued to bring pressure on themselves by constantly conceding in both defence and midfield.
After 77 mins. James Farrell replaced John Hutton, then a minute later Anthony Coe was allowed to run unopposed, half the length of the field to make the score 4 - 1.
Three minutes later, saw Ramsey run through the now non existant Shildon defence only to shoot wide.
