Quarter Final stage of the cup & Shoots come up against Pearscroft 'B'.

Team Line-up:

GK Kyle; RB Flash; CB Garry & Richard; LB Greg; CM Ade & Kenrick; LM Spencer; RM Georgie; CF Marvin & Ross.

Shoots go against the wind in the first half & it proves to be pivotal in defineing the game. Shoots start dreadfully & concede a goal when a boot downfield is not cleared properly, the ball falls to the striker whose tame shot looks like it should be an easy save but somehow the ball ball squirms past Kyle.

Kyle makes up for the earlier blip when he makes a great save diving down to his left pushing a cannon of a shot round the post.

Shoots concede a second when a corner is headed out by flash but the weak header falls to a Pearscroft player whose low shot goes through a crowd & takes a slight deflection off an attacker into the net.

Shoots start the second half brightly & from the off look more dangerous. This pays off early when a flick on from Marvin finds Ross who does well to cut across goal & bury his left footed drive into the opposite corner.

Kyle is brave when the nippy striker beats the offside trap but Kyle is quick off his line & just manages to get to the ball before the player has time to control it.

With 10 minutes to go Shoots go for it & play three at the back. This pays off well when a corner from Marvin goes straight into the net with a little help from the opposing keeper.

With Shoots on the frontfoot they push for the winner & get the goal when another corner from Marvin finds Kenrick who nods the ball home.

Deep into injury time Pearscroft get a chance when the newly arrived Sammy fails to deal with a ball over the top, Garry is forced to come across & clear the ball out but the Pearscroft no.10 tries to con the referee into a penalty by throwing himself to the ground but fortunately the expereienced ref doesn't fall for it or perhaps just didn't fancy another 30 minutes in the cold conditions.

Game Summary - Weather conditions played a major role in this game with both teams failing to deal with the wind. First half was terrible but we showed good spirit in the second half to claim a decent win.

MOM - Kyle - Made up for early error with some great saves that kept Shoots in the game.
