The Club was established nearly 40 years ago when the Barford Trust left a piece of land for the Children of the villages of Shotley & Shotley Gate. This land was to be used for sporting and playing purposes. The old Cricket Pavillion was brought from HMS Ganges for the Club to use for Changing and storing equipment. Many boys and girls have used this land for the purpose of football and play.
