Spilsby in thier first ever season won the Lincolnshire County Cup, in those days treated as seriously as the FA Cup.
They would go on to win the first three County Cups.
In their last season of winning, they defeated three Lincoln teams. So upset were these teams that they were formed together to create : Lincoln City.
And the rest is history.

In the first season of Spilsby's existence they lost in the first round:

1881/82
The following season again led to a first round defeat.
Staveley 5-1 Spilsby 29 October 1881

In the season 1882/83 Spilsby lost in the first round 12-2 away to Sheffield Wednesday.

1883/84
In the season 1883/84 again Spilsby lost in the first round.
Grantham 3-2 Spilsby 10 November 1883
1884/85
In the season 1884/85, Spilsby lost in the First Round away to Newark 3-7.
Newark 7-3 Spilsby 8 November 1884
Newark themselves lost in Round 2, 4-1 away to Middlesborough.
