Town squad stepped up training this week by introducing
the bleep test, results are as follows;

1st - Sonny Cragg level 15
2nd - Adam Dales level 13 round 8
3rd - Pete Sampson level 13
4th - Luke Odlin level 12 round 4

all on level 12

** Town Better team in narrow cup exit **

Spilsby went out of the Fishtoft cup today
away to Frieston 2-1, in a game the Magpies
could of won by 5 clear goals.

Town set up with a 4-3-3 formation to take
the game to Frieston with players played
who had not played many games, and should
of gone in 3 up at half time, with Blades, Rooke
and Barker all having clear cut chances.

But unfortunatly Sampson headed in to his
own net, on one of Friestons rare breaks in
the first half.

Town tried playing a stronger more experiance
side to combat Frieston's strength, and were
looking for youngsters Adam Dales, Twiggy
and Sony 'the hungry Hippo' to come on with
fresh legs and win the game.

Town played with Tuplin and Jeffrey making
there first outfield starts of the season, and
gave Miv, Des and Spring the chance to improve
there match fitness.

The 2nd half started with town on the front
foot and Rooke was denied by the home keeper
when through on goal, in fact the finishing was
the only poor part of the Magpies performance
today, with at least 7 one on one chances missed
by the side.

The ball was sticking up front and all players
worked really hard today, and chances were
created for the first time in a few weeks.

Town went 2-0 down with 15 minuted of the
2nd half gone with the Town keeper Butler
complaining the ball had been kicked from his
hands.

Chances were still getting created by the magpies
and got back in to the game when Miv finally
netted, lobbing the keeper from 20 yards, but
unfortunatly Towns pressure could not force
the game in to extra time.

Town now looking forward to next weeks game
when all players are expected to make the game
and will get a run out, meeting 1pm at Ancaster
Avenue.
