Spirit's final league fixture ended on a high with a convincing 4-1 victory against Staining at Common Edge.

Starting with a luxury of 11 players thanks to Conor Finlayson from the Under 12's and with an expert official taking the field both teams were enjoying plenty of possession in a free flowing game.

A forward ball from Brandon Smith was taken on the run by Robert Cronshaw who after rounding the keeper at full sprint, expertly converted in to the roof of the net.

Spirit got the second half underway and as Staining chased the game more and more chances were being created, Jack Sandiford and Reece Oglesby both went close before Sandiford scored on the break for 2-0.

Staining still chasing clawed a goal back after a defensive mix-up between Smith, keeper Owen Atkinson and full back Owen Geraghty for 2-1, until a another probing run by Reece Oglesby (Star Man) was ended abruptly and Smith converted the subsequent penalty.

The icing on the cake when Spirit's fourth goal came from Finlayson to complete an excellent all round team performance.
