The History of Sporting Hackney FC (18/10/06)

1986 Formed as Hackney Young Peoples' Unemployment Project.

1987 Runners up Northern Suburban League Division 2. Tour to Cornwall. Winners of the Sennen Invitation Cup.

1988 N.S.L.D. Division. Tour of Denmark.

1989 Joined the London Commercial League (10 divisions). Name changed to Sporting Hackney Football Club. Tour to Denmark.

1990 First team promoted to Division 5 as champions.

1991 Winners of Friends of Football Tournament. Tour of France. Winners of Paysac Trophy. First XI promoted to Division 3.

1992 Winners of I.R.L. 6-a-side competition.

1993 Runners-up I.R.L. 6-a-side competition.

1994 Winners of the London Commercial Football League Achievement Award. Semi-finalists Consolation Cup. Winners I.R.L. 6-a-side competition

1995 Club home ground at Southgate. Tour to Cornwall

1997 First XI promoted to Division 3

1998 First XI promoted to Division 2 Second XI promoted to Division 7. Semi-Finalists LCFL Junior Cup. Tour of France during the FIFA World Cup Finals

2000 First XI promoted to Division 1. Club home ground at Hornsey Club. Second XI promoted to Division 6.

2001 First XI finished second in Division 1, the clubs highest ever league position.
Second XI Champions of Division 6. Tour to Spain.

2002 Second XI promoted to Division 4. Tour to Italy.

2003 Second XI third in division four. Tour to Amsterdam, pre-season tour to Wales to play League of Wales Premier team.

2005 Second XI start in Div 3 upon reorganisation of league. Won Elm's Five-A-Side League, East League.

2006 Second XI finish fourth in Div 3, promoted to Division 2 upon reorganisation of league.

2006-7 Second XI win the Supplementary Cup. The first and second team both avoid relegation to stay in respective leagues

2007: Pre-season club tour to Valencia (Sept 6-9)
