A New Era - Champions
This 2005/06 season Sport London e Benfica (SLB) changed from Sunday League to Saturday League, joining the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League. Part of the National League System, SLB have took a step in the right direction towards its ambition of reaching the dizzy and distant heights of professional football.
Despite forming its first Saturday League Football side, SLB reached the semi-finals of the Middlesex Intermediate Cup, and the quarter-finals of the MCFL League Cup and Division 1 Cup.
In the league Sport London e Benfica finished CHAMPIONS. Four points clear of Parkfield Youth Old Boys. Well done to all the players, manager and staff at Sport London e Benfica. We are in the Premier next year!!!
