Benfica finished their league season with a 100% winning record to win the Camden & Regents Park League title.

It was tough going against a determined Queens Park Sharks though and it took a pair of wonder goals from Luis and Frankie to seal the perfect season. The Sharks had the better of the early stages and took the lead with an attacker breaking clear of Giovanni and finishing well past Joe from close in. With the ball bouncing around for much of the first half Benfica struggled for rhythm and could not put together their renowned passing moves. It fell to Jhamali to get the Under 10s back on level terms when he bundled the ball home when others may have given in. Samuel came on to try and shore up the middle of the field as the Sharks broke clear to leave 2 or 3 attackers against the Benfica backline time and time again.

At half time captain Jhamali urged the team to keep working hard and give their best and they started in determined mood. Despite Frankie going close with a long range effort which fizzed past the post and Oliver just unable to poke home at the back post, another counter attack through the middle of the field brought the Sharks a second goal. Unused to being behind, Benfica stepped up a gear, and drew level with a fantastic shot from distance from Luis, scoring from barely inside the opposition half on the left side. As the Queens Park manager said 'That's the best goal I've ever seen in Regents Park.'

It may just have been equalled by another sensational long range strike from Frankie, who thundered home with his less favoured right foot. A goal fit to win any game, but it took typically brave defending from the excellent Emerson and Giovanni, and some strong positive play from Ethan in midfield to keep the Shakrs at bay. Relief at the final whistle, but a memorable way to cap a perfect league season.
