Squires Gate 1 - 1 Silsden FC
After a bright start from Squires Gate the home side got a well deserved breakthrough on 27 minutes when Andy Harvie went on a mazy run from his left back position, and finally setting up player manager Russ Mckenna to calmly slot the ball home to take a well deserved lead that they'd been hoping for. Silsden responded swiftly and with a defence splitting pace they found Kev Ryan who was one on one with Gate's keeper Beesley and then calmly slotted home Silsden equaliser on 27 minutes.
Gate came out fighting and bossed the 2nd half despite that with Bamba , Bennett and Mckendrick who hit the post, Gate could'nt find a way through the Silsden defence, and had to settle for only thier 2nd point of the season.
Gate used thier 24th team member tonight in thier search to break thier unlucky start to the season. Russ Mckenna added "It was a much better performance and gives us something to build on for our trip to Wigan on Saturday, we had chances we should have converted we need a little more luck, but hopefully have turned the corner".
Gate's next home game is against Norton FC on Saturday 1st September K/o 3pm
