History

Who We Are
16 Aug 2006

The club was founded and managed by Barry Beckford in the 1998/1999 season, and played under the name of "Pilkington's Tiles" in the Eccles Sunday League.

In the year of 2001 the club played from "The Beehive" in Clifton and changed its name to "Clifton Beehive". At the end of the 2001/2002 season, "The Beehive" was sold, and it became a Children's Nursery, so, the club had to find a new home.

During the Summer of 2002, the club played from its new base at "Folly Lane RLFC" and became known as "Swinton Folly". The club played from here for only one season before moving to "The Red Lion" in Swinton, and once again was forced to change its name, this time to "Red Cat".

Whilst playing from "The Red Lion", the club gained promotion to the 3rd Division.

At the end of the2003/2004 season, Barry Beckford left the club with solid foundations, and became the resident DJ at a nightclub in Tyldesley.

By the start of the 2004/2005 season, Mike Shaw and Darren Brown took over the running of the club and found its current home at "The Staff Of Life", Partington Lane, Swinton, where we have remained ever since.

Dave Burns was appointed as team manager and helped "The Staff Of Life" gain promotion to Division 2 in May 2006.
