CLUB HISTORY
Club History (29/12/06)

Staining Junior F.C. was formed by a group of parents lead by Gary Oldroyd in February 1997.
The club started with a handful of players and no home ground. Using their own money parents approached a local farmer to plough, level and re-seed a field adjacent to land which was earmarked for the proposed Staining Village Hall. Unfortunately, this upset the local Parish Council but on we pressed to create a football club for children of the area. Local companies were approached to sponsor the club and with the proceeds training equipment and goal posts were bought.

At first the club could only organise a mixed age group team to play friendly matches against more well established clubs from the Blackpool area. As the weeks and months past more and more children joined which meant that players could be split into teams of different age groups.

With more boys joining the club more parents got involved with coaching and managing teams, attending offical coaching courses through the L.F.A.

The club had within the first year of existance an organised Committee, Bank Account, Constitution and Codes of Conduct. With these in place the club could apply for funding through the National Lottery which we have been succesful in for many years now.

The club now needed to be a member of a league to give the players experience of playing regular competitive football in order to keep up their interest in the club, this turned out to be the most difficult task yet faced by the committee.

The two main leagues in Blackpool refused to allow Staining JFC into their leagues, however the Lancaster & Morecambe League were more welcoming and came to the rescue, the club started playing under 12 football in the 1999/2000 season, playing teams such as Bowerham Bombers, Bare Rangers, Morecambe Youth and Lancaster Boys. The club played for two seasons within this league the away fixtures meant a round trip ranging from 40 miles to Lancaster to nearly 80 miles to play Craven at Ingleton, all the away fixtures were by mini bus coach and when the team won an away match this was rewarded with a visit to service area on the M6 for Burger and Chips for all, this got quite expensive at times due to the team being quite succesful.

After two seasons in the L&M league we moved closer to home and joined the Central Lancashire League, in the 2001/2002 season we had three age groups in this league as well as finally being accepted into the Poulton League for the under 9 and 10 teams.

By now the club was growing faster than anyone had expected, we had created 2 mini football pitches as well as 2 full size pitches, Lottery Grant awards were more than helpfull in financing these pitches.
In February 2002 the club applied for F.A. Charter Standard Club status and in September of that year the club was presented with an award by David Wilson from the Lancashire Football Association, we were only the second club on the Fylde coast to gain this prestigious award behind Bispham Juniors F.F.
Four years on from this award the club has succesfully renewed the Charter Standard which means the club continues to meet all the FA criteria for a well organised club, something we at Staining JFC are very proud of.

After three consecutive seasons in the Central Lancs League the club were finally allowed to participate in the Blackpool League for the season 2003/2004 some 5 years after first applying!!!!!!

From that season onwards all the junior teams from under 11 to under 15 have played in the Blackpool League.

2006-07 Season saw Staining finally win their first League title when the U9's won the Poulton Primary League Division B.

2007-08
Staining U13's win Blackpool & District Youth League Div 1B.
