The Belles played their second game against Stevenage Borough 11’s, this time at home in the League. Again the unbeaten Belles wasted no time in opening their scoring, when Maisie Ashwood scored in the second minute. She then scored her second two minutes later and completed her hat-trick with only seven minutes played on the clock. Stevenage Borough battled back and scored a goal shortly afterwards, after Belles keeper Jessica Duff had pulled off a couple of good saves, and they scored their second just before the break.
With the Belles leading 3-2 at half time, the Manager (Mark Simpson) encouraged the Belles to go and play their usual passing game in the second half and to take all their chances ~ this the Belles did. Within the first five minutes, the Belles had scored twice through Katie Cronin and Tenyl Dambruskas, who finished off a five pass move. Katie Cronin and Captain Karla Simpson then scored a further goal each to make it 7-2 with fifteen minutes left to play. The final two goals were scored by Karla Simpson, to record her first ever hat-trick, enabling the Belles to a comprehensive 9-2 victory against a determined Stevenage Borough side.
Another good team performance for the unbeaten Belles ~ the Player of the Match award going to Gemma Broom, who had a fantastic game in defence.
