Originally called Loxley Girls F.C. the club was started by Steve & Sue Odams as an outlet for their triplet daughters, Cheryl, Johanna & Selina & friends, from the Hillsborough area of Sheffield, could play girls football in the Sheffield area.
Nick Name -'The Robyns of Loxley'

U16's formed, U14's reached quarterfinals of the Guinness Ironess Tournament in Scunthorpe . They also reached the semi-final of the Pitz Reebok Soccer Cup.
U12's reached the final of the Bassetlaw Tournament and were Leeds City Vixens Tournament Champions. They also reached the quarterfinals in the Pitz Soccer Cup. Played at a special invitation mini-tournament at Arsenal's JVC Centre.
Name changed to Steel City Wanderers Ladies Football Club.

Team included:- Jenny Salmon (went on to play for Treeton), Debbie Sawyer, Donna Krukowski, Krystle Connealy, Katie Hanson (who went to Sheffield United, then with Rotherham United), Kerry Parkin (who went on to play for Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield Inter & Sheffield United, Rotherham United, then Sheffield FC), Jodie Bingham, Samantha Brown (Capt.) (who went on to play for Rotherham Town, Sheffield Wednesday & Sheffield & Hallamshire County F.A.) & Samantha Szpajer.
