Coaching Corner

Passing, receiving and finishing

Aim - To improve players receiving skills and to get them thinking about different turns to use and when. This drill is also aimed at bringing in some shape so players get an understanding of where they are on the pitch.

Key Points
  1. 1. Crisp passing (easier to control a firm pass than a soft bobbly pass).
  2. 2. Challenge the players to tell you what turns are appropriate in what area of the field and why.
  3. 3. Importance of the first touch.
