ABOUT THE CLUB

St Joseph's Youth '88 Football Club was founded in 1971 and is run on a voluntary basis by parents and friends who are interested in providing community based quality youth football facilities to players in the Harrow and surrounding areas. The club is managed through an Executive committee which is elected each year at the club's AGM meeting.
The club currently runs teams ranging from Under 7's to Under 16's teams who participate in league and cup competitions managed by the Harrow Youth Football League, which is one of the biggest leagues in the country. We are presently developing 3 new Under 6’s teams who will enter the League next season. The club also participates in the Middlesex County Cup each year and organises various social activities to help fund additional income to assist with the cost of providing football, for over 400 youngsters. With the introduction of the girl football teams two years ago, we have now become the 2nd largest Youth Football Club in Middlesex.
On 11th September 2003 the club gained the official Football Association Chartermark, which was then followed up by being recognised by the Inland Revenue as a Community Amateur Sports Club. We are also affiliated to the Middlesex County Football Association
All our teams play on a Sunday, at two grounds (one in Kenton and the other in Stanmore)

We provide the opportunity for our 60 + managers and coaches to attend various courses to ensure they are appropriately qualified to adhere to the standards of the Football Association relating to childrens’ development, training and welfare. At present, we are now gathering the required information, from our Club Staff, to ensure all staff are approved by the Criminal Records Bureau and will shortly be arranging two Child Protection Courses, for those whose certificates have lapsed.

Each year we hold a Presentation Day, whereby all our members are thanked for their efforts and receive a memento (this year it will be at Eastmans, Harrow) and also a Football Weekend Festival, which attracts over 190 teams (from all over London and Middlesex), with over 3,500 people attending. Last year, in view of the Tsunami Disaster, we donated over Ł400.00p from the Festival profit to the Fund and will be continuing with this tradition, at our 24th and 25th June, 2006 Festival. The organisations this year to benefit will be St Luke’s Hospice (Harrow) and the Childrens Ward, Northwick Park Hospital.

Though we are a no profit organisation, through the income received from fees, fund raising events and sponsors we have attracted, over the last 5 years, we are able to subside those teams who use hired training facilities and also a range of club items which includes items such as kit bags and rain jackets.

We have a Club Constitution, an equal opportunities policy and encourage our membership to play the game of football in a true and honest manner. We also have a monthly Newsletter , which goes out to all our members, as well as an award winning Website to ensure members are kept informed of activities, within the Club.

If you would like further information on us and what we can offer (or would like to become a sponsor), please do not hesitate to contact, as I would be pleased to supply further details.
