Brief History of St. Margarets FC All Stars (27/06/06)
The club was founded by Dan Slaughter, an 18 year old student from Deal, Kent. The club started creation in January 2005, Dan went to the club secretary and said I want to start a Disability Football club at St. Margarets FC, in a surprising shock he turned around and said go ahead with it. Dan then become a member of the St. Margarets FC committee and became the New Special Needs Co- ordinator of the club. He then took my plans to the committee and it was agreed that he was to do this, everyone agreed to fully support the Section of the club.
Saturday 12th May 2005 was the first training session for the All Stars. Although at this point there was only 3 members, Dan had achieved what was set out to be done.
Now this brings us to the present where we have training sessions held every week where we have a good turn out of 12 children.
On the 2nd of July 2005 the club was entered into a competition held with Invicta Valiants, this was the All Stars first ever match and this was only three training sessions from their first.
The All Stars took center stage and surprised everyone with the Trophy being brought home to the club.
What is the best way to settle a cup tie that is level after normal time?
Extra time, then penalties
Straight to penalties
Golden goal extra time, then penalties
Golden goal all the way, removing one player from each team at regular intervals
Extra time, then shootout - players start on halfway and have 15 seconds to shoot
Might as well just toss a coin!
