Fc Bluestar C 1

Stockport Vikings were once again at home this time our local rivals Fc Bluestar C were the visitors in the latest round of the Metro Cup.
The game kicked off and from the first to the last whistle Vikings dominated proceedings,at times playing some great football, and midway through the first half Vikings took a deserved lead,(GOAL!) after some great work down the left by James Massey and Cormac the ball fell to the feet of the prolific Jamie Reding who with his back towards goal spun round and smashed the ball into the top corner of the Bluestar net.Vikings continued to press forward and it wasn't long before Vikings extended their lead,(GOAL!) this time Jamie was the provider with a great pass to Cormac who outpaced the Bluestar defence before unleashing a shot which the keeper saved well only for the ball to fall back at the feet of Cormac who made no mistake from 6 yards out.Vikings were now enjoying their football but against the run of play Bluestar grabbed a lifeline,(GOAL!) a long ball from the Bluestar defence caught out the Vikings defence leaving a free run on goal for the Bluestar striker who finished superbly giving Jordan in the Vikings goal no chance. The first half came to a close as it had started with Vikings in complete control.
Half-Time Stockport Vikings 2 Fc Bluestar C 1
The second half began as the first with the Vikings on the front foot, and it wasn't long to wait for Vikings to regain their 2 goal advantage,(GOAL!) after some good work in the middle of the park the ball fell to the feet of Cormac who fired home from close range.Vikings were playing great football with Danny and Jacob outstanding in midfield and the defence looking comfortable.Vikings soon increased their lead,(GOAL!) again some neat football in the midfield releasing Jamie who fired home his second and Vikings fourth goal. With the Vikings in complete control they saved their best till last with the goal of the match,(GOAL!) some tidy football in midfield by Danny releasing Josh down the Vikings right who whipped in a great cross that Jamie headed powerfully past the Bluestar keeper for his second hat-trick of the season.Another great performance from Vikings WELL DONE
