History

Spectrum is born
20 May 2008

Shortly after the finish of the 2005/06 season, Martin Greaves and Karl Walker decided to form a football team for the young lads of Stoke Prior, with the financial help of Wilf Goddard and Mark Burnett, the club now known as Stoke Prior Spectrum was born.

First season
20 May 2008

The first season started off as expected with defeat to Leisureline, however a 5-0 victory against Wessie looked encouraging only for the league to force the game to be replayed after both teams fielded illegal players. More defeats follwed, some heavy and others tight, one big ray of hope was the 11-2 thrashing of Barley Mow.
A few additions to the squad at christmas saw Spectrum play good football at times and saw them come from 2-0 to win 3-2 against Lickey End courtesy of a 45yard free kick from Tom Westwood, a further 3-0 win against already promoted Mettis saw Spectrum finish a respectable 8th.

2007-08 season
20 May 2008

Spectrum had high hopes for this season and got off to a flyer beating Hop Pole 7-2 and then Woodrow 3-1, this proved to be a false dawn as a crushing 9-1 defeat to eventual Div 3 Champs Rubery RBL put doubt in the players minds.
Further embarrassing defeats occured during the season and overconfidence was the downfall of the team which saw a top 2 finish slip away, coupled with a semi final defeat away to Barley Monners saw a dejected Spectrum only finish 4th.

New divison, new name
