Kilpatrick AFC 1-1 St.Patricks FP

The build up to the new season continued with a match in sunny Balfron last Saturday against old adversaries Kilpatrick AFC and after a poor show against Bannockburn AFC earlier in the week improvements was demanded from the management.
To be fair the players old and new responded in a positive manner with St.Pats cause was helped with the return of Darren MacKinnon and Michael King who were both away with the Scottish Amateur team on successful tour of the Highlands and Islands.
Indeed they deserved their lead when Kris Brown took possession before picking out Joe Goldie who quickly delivered ito Sean Marner who finished in style. However, the lead only lasted some twenty minutes before Kilpatrick produced an equaliser.
The game would continue in a completive manner and while no more goals the crowd there was plenty of goal mouth action to keep the crowd entertained.
Meanwhile, the Saints were also competing in the annual Rhu Sevens and reached the semi finals only to be beaten in a penalty shoot out by the eventual winners Partick West. The club would like to thank Bobby Dunn and his team for the kind invitation.
The pre season games will continue this midweek with games against Glasgow University and Gourock Athletic before the first team’s first competitive game this coming Saturday away to Eddlewood AFC in the Central Scottish top division.
