The Rovers re-formed for a one-off match versus St Georges Dragons and the original problems were still evident. Two confirmed players failing to show up meaning that only 10 started the game and the Dragons, who had player problems of their own were unable to provide an extra man to make the numbers even.
The first half saw a casual Rovers side fall behind to a Dave Wilson strike before a scuffed Mike Wilson shot was prodded home by Patty Crowest.
Rovers took the lead when Mark Stanton headed home a long Crowest throw after evading his marker before the Dragons made the scores level with another thumping Dave Wilson effort.
The second half saw Rovers cause plenty of problems for the Dragons side and Dave Barrett scored a brace either side of a Mike Wilson finish. The Dragons spurned plenty of opportunities to reduce the deficit but the score remained at 5-2.
