SWINTON JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB - WELCOME PACK
04 May 2007

Brief Background About The Club
Swinton FC has been established since 1992, securing our own club house in 2003. With teams ranging from under 7’s to under 16’s, we provide a safe environment within which these children, along with their parents and families, can participate in fun, safe physical exercise that also promotes team spirit both between children and their parents, and has assisted in bringing the local community closer together. Not only do we provide a focal point within the local area for members to meet, but also as they join together as a group both socialising and fund raising for their football club.

A subscription of £3.00 per week is to be paid at the Thursday training session. There are no charges for Match days. Of this £1.00 per week is paid to the club for running costs, as the club is run voluntarily. The rest goes towards each individual teams sports equipment, such as nets, balls, kits (if a sponsor cannot be found), indoor training facilities during winter and other training aids.

Match Days
All matches are played on a Saturday. Unless any are postponed – these may have to be played mid-week.[once you are playing 11 aside check with john for your playing day - it may change]
All home matches are played at the club, at the back of the Funeral Directors, off Barton Road. All home match kick off times are 11 am. The team is expected to arrive half an hour before kick off, to sign the match card and warm up before the game.
Away match times are determined by the away teams manager and will be advised at the training session before that particular game.
A referee is appointed to each game by the League you are registered with. A fee of £12.00 is to be paid by the home team to the referee on the day of the match. This is the responsibility of the Manager. This is paid for out of the subs collected each week. Child referees are also protected by the Child Protection Laws as well as the children on the pitch.

Man of the Match

A Man of the Match is chosen by the Manager at every game played, home or away, and the player chosen receives a Man of the Match medal at the end of the game.

Registration into a League
Each team Manager chooses which league to be registered to (under 9’s John Hartley’s team are registered with the Salford League). This is done on an annual basis. Forms are given out when this is required, which needs to be accompanied with a fee of £10 per child, two passport size photos of your child and a copy of your child’s birth certificate, this is to prove that your child is playing for the correct age group.
Each child must be registered in order to play any matches. Once registered, we receive a registration card with your child picture on, which has to provided at each match played. These are all kept together by the team’s manager.
Salford League website address is: www.ourkidsports.co.uk

Information Forms
Any player wishing to join the club needs to complete the attached information form and return it to the Manager as soon as possible. There is also a brief questionnaire on the reverse, this is for medical reasons in case your child needs any assistance. This information is kept confidential.

Fund Raising Committee and Presentation Nights.
The Club is run entirely on funds raised by the committee and the individual teams. Each year a Dinner Dance is held to raise funds for the club, this has been very successful in raising thousands of pounds due the kind generosity of gift donated for auctioning at this event. A family fun day was also a great success, even though the weather was terrible. Each team manager has to come up with a stall or game for the day to raise money.

The club also has an annual presentation night where each child receives a medal or trophy from the club, and other trophies and awards are given out by each individual team managers. This was held at the Pendlebury British Legion in 2003/04 and is at the same venue on 10th June 2005 for this years presentations. A small charge is made for tickets.
