THis was certainly a game of 2 halves with the Hosts having the better of the first period.Despite some sustained pressure from Bolton County our defence held quite well with some great tackles from Wright and some necessary saves from Foster keping us in it.However it was inevitable that something was going to give and a disputed free kick on the edge of the area allowed Bolton the sniff on goal they had been seeking and a low drive through the wall had Foster beat at his far post. For some reason going down seems to kick start our players and we began to mount more encouraging attacks but just coukdn't find that final touch upfront .The new look to the attack of McDermott and Sixsmith was working well and with Haworth and McLoughlin and then Powell surging down the wings we had good balance. The second half was a totally different affair that was dominated by the Swinton team and this was shown on numerous occassions with our shots on goal ratio far in excess of our hosts.Good wing work and a great reverse cross saw Swinton get a deserved equaliser when a shot on goal landed kindlyon the head of Haworth who calmly put it away. The three points should have been Swinton's if only the Referee had been able to keep up with play.Another sweeping move by Swinton saw Sullivan put in a cross field pass that found Powell unmarked and onside to all but the Referee bringing up the rear and no sooner had the ball been slotted past the keeper did he agree with the baying Bolton supporters and gave the free kick.A point gained away from home? No I'd say 2 points dropped or rather taken away from us however a sound performance again and we are still only 6 games into the season with 20 games left I am still confident the Team can achieve its ultimate goal and emerge as Championship contenders
