After a turbulent start to the 2005/2006 season, which saw two convincing friendly wins and just one win in our first four league games, our old coach Griff resigned as manager.

Step forward new gaffer Ryan Arnold and new assistant Scott Davis and our early promise began to show in the league, as we slowly crept up from bottom of the league.

With some new tactics and a few new members added to the squad, our team began to play with style, with Trevor James outstanding at the back alongside old pros Matt Wake and John Chitole.

In midfield, senior members Gary Tuck and Mark Morgan were forming an impressive partnership in the midfield, with Mark Keeler and Glen Holman filling in brilliantly particularly when we lost Mark for the second half of the season with injury. Alongside them we had the skillful Gerry Murphy on the right, with Shaun Clark and Freddie Tuck adding pace on the left, as well as playmakers Scott Davis and Chris Akers who added their acute passing game to an already talented midfield.

Up front, we had three forwards who couldn't stop scoring. Phil Inkelaar did well in he first half of the season with 9 goals before falling to injury, and was replaced in impressive fashion by Shane McHenry, who added a touch of skill to the forward line, as well as over 10 goals. But it was the young Jason Bayford who took the striking plaudits, with his pace and guile earning him our Golden Boot award with an incredible 35 goals.

In all, it was a superb season, culminating in promotion to Division 4, as well as amassing an impressive run of 1 defeat in 12 games in the season run-in.
