The Bulls Head Marchington FC has been in the making for a good number of years, and talks of this team eventually came to life in early 2011. The whole ethos of the team is to establish a core team from within the village and bring back the village support that previous football clubs from Marchington have had. 90% of the team are either from Marchington or have lived in Marchington at some point in their lives and those who are 'Outsiders' either have to be 'bloody good' or are regular drinkers in the Bulls Head. Richard Castle was the real driving force behind getting the team off the ground, coupled with a number of other individuals, Richard is the Club Secretary. Sponsorship has been secured to get the team going, and our thanks go out to Mastermover, Browns Heating, Adicio, Wilkins & Thompson Solicitors and ST Plastering as without this tremendous support the team would not be possible. After sponsorship had been secured, we worked to establish our first committee. First on the agenda was to get a 'Gaffer' on board and we managed to persuade Rik Kiddle to take the job on along with Brett Brown as Assistant Manager and Coach. Phil Strong the Landlord of the Bulls head was then elected in as Chairman of the Club, Adam Johnson as Club Captain and Tom Wheeldon as Treasurer. All home games will be played at Silver Lane, Marchington on the village field and the whole squad are all looking forward to a sucessful first season.
