BBFC are pleased to announce that, despite finishing second bottom of the Mercury Waltham League division three this season, we have avoided relegation.
We will remain in the same division for the 2007/08 season and manager Dave Bromage is confident of a much-improved showing this term.
Despite the loss of BBFC goalscoring legend Si Scott, who has left the club to pursue other ventures, boss Bromage hopes improved team spirit, some high-profile (and some might say controversial) new signings, regular goalkeeper Jamie Norgan and the return of players like Mark Smith and Huw Bromage will push the BBs on to bigger and better things.
At the League AGM on Thursday May 18, it was announced that Mr B had won the division three Linesman of the Year Award. Mr B has won the divisional award every year since we joined the league five seasons ago in 2001. His hard work is much appreciated. And this year he beat even league officer John Finn to the title of highest average mark with a seasonal score of 4.75 out of 5 per game. Well done Mr B (and Brom and Jonny, who filled in later in the season!)
Please note the BBFC end-of-season do will be held on Friday June 29.
