Throstles JFC was established in 1970.Over the years ,some famous footballers have played for Throstles and have gone on to play at the highest level. John Beresford(Newcastle), Fraser Digby (Man Utd ), Tony Dawes (Sheff Utd) now Utd academy coach and of course Micky Adams. Beresford Digby and Dawes all played in the same throstles team of 70s and 80s. They originally played in orange kits. They were Utds official nursery team in the 70s
