Report

Playing on a Saturday meant we were low on numbers for our trip to steeple Ashton, luckily mike was able to help getting in Simeon to play, we also picked up two new recruits on the day which meant we had a good sized squad. That being said due to a mix up over the day of the game Tim Brown had to referee most of the game...

After a team talk from the gaff/ref the tigers got off too good start, despite steeple Ashton starting with some good possession we defended well under pressure and passed the ball out of defence into midfield. Normally we would be a couple of goals down early on in the game against Ashton but it was us who took lead. Nathan, mike and Marc all linked up well for shep to score his first goal after rounding the keeper. At the other end Chris making his debut was called to in to make some important stops, and Lawrence in midfield did well to stifle Paul Ford. The new recruits settled in well Simeon was dangerous on the right wing while Shaun and Pinder both showed some good skills in the centre of the park.

A good start got even better Marc scoring another goal beating the keeper again from close range, he should of then got his third but was denied by the keeper. Steeple Ashton were causing lost of problems though and it was down to some defending that kept them Ashton team from scoring after the Tigers sprung the offside trap on the home twice to great affect. Steeple Ashton found a way back into the game though when Roger committed a foul in the area, Nathan Holloway made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-1.

After the break Trowbridge continued their good work but were pegged back to 2-2 when Ashton finally beat the offside trap. The Tigers went close again Nathan Baines through on goal could not find the finish to match the fine run from midfield. As the half wore on the home team improved and managed to pull themselves ahead - Lee looked across the line looking for an offside decision that didn't come. In the final minutes the gaffa did eventually manage to get onto the pitch for the impressive Jake Herd but Steeple Ashton scored in the closing minutes to win 4-2
