It was with some regret that I decided to call it a day before going into the 2008/09 season. Non commitment of players was the main reason for folding. Turning up to training with 3 players and me for 2 weeks running was the final straw on an otherwsie fantastic 4 seasons. Without 15 commited individuals no club can survive and sadly for some reason we could not get that so I think the right decision has been made.
Over the years there were some great victories and many new friends were made but the last season was a struggle towards the end and not enjoyable from my point of view (too much moaning, squabbling, gesticulating and a lack of comradary in the side) made the decsion a lot easier.
I wish all the players luck in the future and will of course still show my face for a few games to see how they are fairing in their new found teams.
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
