Tunstall Town FC play in Division 2 of the Staffordshire County Senior League. Currently playing at Sandyford Cricket Club, TTFC have a history of regularly changing their home venue,hence the club's nickname, The Nomads.
Originally formed as a works team in 1949,the club was taken over by former Crewe Alexandra full back, John Rowley in 1966.
In 1992 the club won the inaugural Umbro Veterans Cup
The club attracted a lot of media attention during the 2010/11 season due to a string of heavy defeats, including club record 19-0 defeats to Stone Old Alleynians & Manchester Metropolitan University
. A feature by Johnny Phillips was shown on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday & the club also appeared on Norway's NTV2 goals round up. John Rowley was interviewed on Talksport's Hawksbee & Jacobs Show & the Guardian newspaper's Barney Ronay did an article on the club.
John Rowley decided to end his 46 year association with the club at the end of the 2011/12 season to become chairman of Kidsgrove Athletic.
George Day became manager in August 2012.
In January 2013 Jordan Taylor scored a second half equalising goal to earn the club their first league point since September 2007, ending a run of 142 consecutive defeats.
