Today saw us pick up a league point for the first time in 6 seasons in a hard fought draw with Whittington. Having beaten us 8-0 earlier in the season they thought that they had won the game before we even kicked off. Whittington took an early lead when their striker hit a speculative shot from about 20 yards out that slipped through keeper Chris Dunn's hands. The rest of the 1st half saw few chances created by either side with the defences dealing with everything quite easily. The 2nd half began in similar fashion with us struggling to break their defence down. Whittington were getting tired & frustrated with the way we were coping with whatever they tried. In the 65th minute Jordan Taylor outpaced the Whittington defence to score the equaliser after pressurising the keeper, who missed his chance to clear the ball. After the goal only 1 team was in it with Jordan Taylor & Keith Burgess forcing excellent saves from the Whittington keeper. In the 86th minute Whittington's frustration got the better of them, when following an offside decision against them all hell broke loose in a situation that saw all of the players & officials from both teams on the pitch. When the situation had calmed down the referee dismissed 2 Whittington players & 1 substitute for violent conduct & dismissed our keeper Chris Dunn for retaliation
