A season of success. The class of 08/09 managed to secure a hard fought victory against London Met 1sts at home to secure promotion to the 2nd tier of South East Football. Elsewhere they finished a respectable 4th. Had it not been for a few slack displays in mid season this could have be considerably higher. A great cup run came to an abrupt end hours before the team jetted off to "tour" at the hands of a last minute ,last gasp winner from Clare town with seconds to spare. However on return they beat the league leaders at home 1-0 giving them there first defeat of the season and condemning Notley to a loosing streak which they never regained from. A highly succesfull season still on all accounts, Players Player of the Year - Jonathan Field after a superb season in the sticks earning him not only the respect of his players but also a place in the top 3 newcomers in all University of Essex Sports. Sean Harris took Managers Player of the year with some solid performances throughout the season winning him the most man of the matches and yet again the respect of his fellow team mates and manager. Mark Bullock won captain of the year and he said this was testament to the quality and commitment throughout the year of the players he had at his disposal.

Once again a great season with many freshers coming through the ranks showing that the University once again has great potential in years to come. Roll on 2009/10!!
