Martley Spurs 1

Town produced their best performance this season thrashing the undefeated martley Spurs. Town started very strongly putting in hard tackles and keeping good possesion of the ball. Warne had the first chance but was unable to slot home Radnors cross and when Radnor picked out Luan he rushed his chance nodding the ball staright at the keeper. Dixon scored his second goal in 2games with an overhead kick from an almost impossible angle. Martley applied some pressure on the Town back four and if it wanst for a spectacular block by Nineham ,Martley could of been on level terms. Towards the end of the first half Martley started to dominat Radnor made a further to more blocks to keep Martleyat bay.
Both teams looked tired start of the second half, playing on a muddy and very heavy surface. Town grabbed 2goals in 5minutes to pretty much seal victory. The first was Danny Whites first for the club with a powerful 25yard volley in which the keeper could only parry into the net and a looping farpost header from Paul Amott gave Town a 3-0 lead. Martley were given a life line when a soft penalty was awarded for a foul against Scriv in the Upton goal to which a yellow card followed. At 3-1 Town didnt look back and continued to put the pressure on, Luan scored the 4th with a turn and volley. Turbo got the 5th after coming off the bench and terrorising the Martley right side in the last 25minutes he got a well deserved goal.
