The club was formed in season 1997-98 and under the management of keeva annettes the club did not have a good 1st league campain.As they finished finished bottom winning only 1 game all season.The following season 98-09 saw a change of fortune for the club as a number of players went(craig smith,nick sainsbury,kevin carter and darren harley) and a number came in(richard sparkes,tony byford,brian stagg,martin brazier,rob wood.That season the club finished 3rd.The following season 09 -00 saw Venables win the south east essex div2 cup as the league was susspended,we beat Rayford town 3-2 at Runwell hospital scrores were Richard Sparkes,Neal Carey and Mark Thurrogood.In the 01-02 season was not great for venables as due to really bad wether only played a handful of games with no home games being played.The 02/03 season saw Venables do well and finish 3rd in the league.03/04 there was a change as Venables joined the southend sunday league,with being a new team they joined division 6 which they won.In 04/05 Venables then came runners up in divison 4 which saw them promted again and also lost twice in 2 semi finals both to Leigh Ramblers.So 05-06 Venables was in division 3 and came 6th.That was the last season as Keeva as manager with Neal Carey taking over,but due to many being owed Venables was relegated back to division 4, the club moved its home ground to southend high school and a good season for Venables saw us finish 4th and promotion back to league 3.In the close season Neal steped down as manager after just 1 season so former Venables goalkeeper James Coare took over as gaffer for 07-08 where we finished 7th and it was repeated again 08-09 as 7th place was where we came and again for the 3rd time in the clubs history we lost in a cup semi final where after being 1-0 up at half time lost 3-1 to Rayleigh town
