Waldridge Park Junior Football Club was formed in 1988 by the late Malcolm Cole. At that time he had only a couple of footballs and a handful of players. Now the club consists of teams from Under 7s to Under 18s, over 200 players in all — making it the largest club in Chester-le-Street.
Waldridge Park enters teams in the Russell Foster Tyne and Wear Youth Leagues and boasts a number of Premiership and First Division sides at both Mini Soccer and 11 a-side levels.
The club has recently achieved FA Charter Standard Development Club status and fielded its first Girls Team in the 2004 – 2005 Season. The club is committed to identifying and developing young footballing talent and have over 20 FA Qualified Coaches on our staff including our own UEFA A Coach.
We also have strong links with the region's professional clubs and regularly pass on players to Development Centres and Academies.
Players at all levels also have the opportunity to play European Football during the Club’s Annual Tour event which takes place over the Easter break.
