In June 1998, Sean O’Hagan started training approximately 10 local boys on the Walton-Le-Dale recreation ground. This formed the beginning of Walton-le-Dale Junior Football Club.
Since then, the club membership has sharply risen to approximately 160 children whose ages range from 5 to 15 years.
Due to the fast growth of the club, it was felt a committee was needed to ensure the continuation of this very successful organisation. In December 1999, the committee was formed constituting the Parents of the children.
For the first time in the clubs history Walton Le Dale Under 15's won the LFA cup. They beat Unsworth FC 2-0 to win the pretigious trophy
