First ever cup meeting between Rotherham United and Leicester City took place on 8th January 1955 in an FA Cup 3rd round tie in front of 20,428 at Millmoor.
Dennis Pell (Dave's dad), playing in only his second game of the season, deputising for the injured Ian Wilson, scored the only goal to knock out first division Leicester.
