The Season So Far

We have now played three of the teams in our league and i have been very pleased with our performances.
After the wins against steventon and benson , the match against botley came as a bit of a shock,however the attitude and commitment of the players in both of the games(against botley) was second to none resulting in a 5-5 draw in the 1st game and a 1-0 win in the second.
i know some of the players were a little dissapointed in playing less minutes than some others,but i am trying my best in trying to strike a balance between making sure everyone plays a part in games and playing certain players depending on how the game is going at that time.
In our league games we will play 22 matches this season and also friendlies when possible,there will also be tournaments to enter,thus giving all of the players oppurtunities to play.
We have got a large squad now but over the course of the season everybody will get there chance.

Thanks very much to all the parents for there help in setting up goals and carrying equiptment to the matches, it certainly makes things easier for me.
Its also great to see how everybody is getting involved and supporting all of the players.
I must take this oppurtunity to thank dave for all the work he does on this web-site , it is time consuming for him and i hope you are all getting the benefits of using it.
Also thanks to kim ,paul and daryl for all there help in training the players.
With the large squad we now have extra help was definetly needed and last thursdays session went very well due to paul and daryls extra input (cheers guys)

On a lighter note what happened to the bacon sandwiches guys !!!!!!

Once again many thanks to all the parents that have got involved with the team , its great to see you all there on a saturday cheering the boys on.
I do really appreciate all the help with coaching,setting up goals,tidying up after matches,financial help towards the team,match reports on web site and general support towards what i am trying to do for the boys

MANAGERS REPORT

We have nearly reached the halfway stage of the season and i have to say i have been really impressed with the football the boys have been playing.
At this age the players enjoyment of the game is the main thing and i am certainly seeing this on a saturday morning and at training from all the players.
Im not one to single out players ,especially as all who have played this season have been absolutely excellent but i must mention hatricks for Alex Kay and Lewis Collins and first goals for the club from Ryan Higgs,John Tilly,Sammy Olekalan,Henry Hall,Jack Needham and Stephen Netting.
Icould talk about each player individually but as a summary all the boys give me 100% whether its in training or at matches.
The one game that has really stood out this season was the away match to Benson, for the 1st half of the game the boys played the best football ive seen from them coming in at half time 5.0 up.
For a game that had everything the 5.5 home draw against Botley was another highlight of the season (even the ref didnt want it to end ! )
Well done to all the boys and keep on enjoying what you are doing, i certainly am !!!!!
