The club is born

At the end of the 2007/8 football season the parents of the Under 13 team that played under the name of Warthfold affiliated to Warthfold and Redvales Community Sports Club, where informed that the club no longer intended focusing on football as it intended to push forward in becoming a multi sports community club. The under 13 team for this season was awarded 'sporting team of the season' by the Bury Junior Football League within the corresponding age and division category and finished 9th in the league.

On the 19th May 2008 at a meeting of parents of the then current team elected/formed a committee and a new club was formed. The committee then set about organising the club and the team ready for the new season, registered and affiliated to the Manchester FA. By the end of July 2008 we will have at least two FA qualified coaches and a welfare officer working with the FA.

The team voted on names for the club and Warthfold United was chosen. The committee drafted a constitution and this was approved by the members at the general Meeting on the 16th June 2008.
