Our football club began life in 1947. It was founded by the miners of the Washington 'F' Pit. All that now remains of the colliery is the Pit Head (pictured above) which is now a museum. The club however continues to provide opportunties for people all ages to play football.
In Season 2008/2009 the club will field a Senior team who will play in the Second Division of the Arngrove Northern League. We will also have seven junior teams ranging from Under 8 to Under 18. The Junior teams will compete in the Russell Foster Junior Leagues.
The senior team open their 2008/2009 League campaign with a 100+ mile journey to league newcomers Whithaven on Saturday 9 August 2008. The seniors have also been drawn at home in both the F.A. Cup and F.A. Vase. (see 1st Team Fixtures).
