ABOUT THE CLUB

Welcome to the official site of Welland Valley Football Club, founded in 1998. We are a club who aim to benefit the community, offering football all the way through from Under 7's to Under 16's, making us one of the largest clubs in Northamptonshire. All of our teams are currently playing in the Northampton & District Youth Alliance League (NDYAL) know locally as the John Henry League after the leagues main sponsor, which has offered the club a great opportunity for non competitive football at mini-soccer & competitive football at eleven a-side. Currently we have over 150 registered players at the club all of whom show a real commitment to their relevant teams on a Saturday & Sunday.

In a short space of time we have secured our own ground at Wootton Brook in Ladybridge Drive, West Hunsbury in partnership with Northampton Borough Council. We have four eleven a-side pitches & two mini-soccer pitches. The club also work closely with all the residents surrounding Wootton Brook.

Once Welland Valley secured a ground it enabled the club to hold an annual summer tournament whereby each year fifty six teams & over seven hundred boys & girls compete from U7 to U16.

The club has a firm foundation which is led by chairman Mick Watts, secretary Michelle Mitchell, treasurer Barry Pooley, welfare officer Gill Batty & all the managers from each team who are all on the committee & play an active roll & work tirelessly to make sure the club runs smoothly.

All the managers or coaches are at least FA level one qualified in coaching football, first aid trained & have been CRB checked. As with any football club a key factor has to be the quality of people on the management / committee team.
At Welland Valley we are extremely lucky to have an abundance of talented individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic & really motivated into bringing the best out of everyone as well as making sure the club continues to grow & develop.

At the start of the 2008 / 2009 season Welland Valley are aiming for F.A Charter Standard status.

Welland Valley are always looking for managers / coaches & players so if you would like to join a well run club please click on the contact club which is situated on the left hand side for more information.
