Westbury United first team joined the Western League in 1984 and initially struggled but In 1991, under the management of Ian Harris, they won the First Division Title to gain promotion to the Premier Division.

In the 2009-2010 season the first team managed a top five finish in Toolstation League Division One. However, 2010-2011 saw the departure of long-serving manager Paul Brickley, to be replaced firstly by Andy Crabtree, and then by long-serving Westbury player, Steve Seals. Before the 2011-2012 season, Steve Seals resigned to be replaced by charimana Phil Alford and former reserves captain, Sam Gooding.
