After a quiet opening quarter of an hour, Mark Young’s deep ball found Simon Millard who fed Dean Caslake and his cross was hit over the bar from six yards by Matt Mead. Caslake set up Mead again a few minutes later but he was off target again with a first time strike.
Elmore had a period of pressure when Shane Mason and Jason Collier did well to deny James MacMartin in the box and Mason then saved well from Shane Fyles’ 20 yarder.
Young opened the scoring on 33 when he ran in to head a Caslake corner into the roof of the net and it could have been 2-0 soon after when, after good play by Steve Gayton and Young, Millard thrashed the ball wide.
The visitors came close to drawing level before the break. Firstly Ben Vine ran almost the whole length of the pitch but chose to pass instead of shoot and then Mason excelled with a block save at the edge of the box when Fyles broke through one on one.
Westbury were dominant after half time and the only surprise was how long it took to score their second goal. Millard was off target twice: firstly when set up by Caslake and then after an error by Elmore keeper Chad Gribble. Lovely play between Caslake and Millard then set up Mead but somehow he only hit the post from close range!
It became 2-0 on 53 when Gayton sent in a pacy cross to Mead. He headed but missed the target and when the ball wasn’t cleared Millard was on hand to tap the it into the goal.
Dave Atkinson hit a superb goal on 68 to make it 3-0 when Elmore cleared a Caslake corner and Atkinson raced forward and struck a crisp 25 yarder that flew into the bottom right hand corner! However, a minute later Elmore's Tom Kelly was able to run the ball into an open goal to deny Westbury a clean sheet.
Millard dragged an effort wide of the target but he notched his second of the afternoon on 75. His first shot was blocked on the line by Luke Bryant but the ball rebounded straight to him and he made no mistake at the second time of asking.
Young headed a Caslake corner over the bar before the final goal on 81 which came when Luke Durham’s ball into the box was turned into his own net by Bryant.
