Not to be outdone.....England win 5-1 on Saturday.....so do Scorps on Sunday!

Scorers: Luke (3), Ben (2)

Last Sunday, Scorpions Rangers 'Sunday' team continued their thrilling start to the season with an identical scoreline to the previous day's England game......
With coach, Eric Mamet, absent on family business, the team were without his usual encouragement from the touchline. However, they were grateful for Paul stepping in as 'sub' coach and continuing, yet again, to bring the best out of the boys.
With Luke on a high after the Saturday team match, and last week's, 6-4 win still motivating them, the team were ready for anything that Oxshott Royals could throw - or even kick - at them. And with both teams level on points they needed to be ready. It was a tough match from start to finish, but the boys all played fantastically and it was drama from beginning to end. Rob was welcomed back into the team after injury and played well, almost scoring twice, but having to limp off after a hard tackle. Chris had a few chances and played well on the left whilst Ahte displayed his usual tenacity on the right, giving Oxshott a few headaches. Luke was immense in the centre, well deserving his 3 goals, the first of which was a cracker. He was supported well by great passing from human dynamo, Harry with his usual energetic play, and some great skill and good running from Ben who also took his chances well, scoring that valuable first goal and then again later for his second of the match. Affie displayed his customary versatility, playing midfield and at the back where Adam proved his worth as a solid last man. Dan, in a defensive position showed what a great athlete he is with skilful tackling and great defensive work. Henry played on the right and had some good runs at the Oxshott defence, whilst David was also a force to be reckoned with in the Scorpions defence. Jake played a tremendous game at the back in the first half and kept a clean sheet in goal in the second half even saving a penalty with great anticipation that the ball would go right....it did.... . Andrew played well in goal in the first half, keeping Oxshott at bay, and enjoyed playing in defence for part of the second half.
In the writer's opinion, this was Scorpions best win of the season so far, it was a very tough game, Oxshott gave nothing away and as a result of every single member of Scorps team giving their all, it was a very, very well deserved win
