23/05/11 TEAM MANAGERS END OF SEASON REPORT
Colin Bennett, West Ham United Ladies Under 12s team manager, presented the following end of season report at the club's Annual General Meeting last night:
From the trials we went with a fourteen girl squad. One player remained form last years under 12’s and seven stepped up from the Under 10’s with six new players joining who were all under 12’s. So we had an even split of seven Under 12’s and seven under 11’s.
We played one League Cup game which we unfortunately lost. We won our league which only ran until December and our record was P10 W8 D1 L1. We then played friendliest from January to April and our record against under 12 opponents was P5 W5 and against under 13 opponents P2 W2.
In total we P18 W15 D1 L2 – GS 137 GA 17 – Clean sheets 8. Our top scorer scored 38 goals.
The girls played a style of football that was pleasing to watch and we always attracted approving comments from anyone who watched. The girls were challenged to think about the game and develop their play and to be self analytical. We feel that the older under 12’s have developed well enough to have a really good chance of progressing to the under 14’s and that the younger under 13’s have sufficiently developed in terms of technique and tactical knowledge to make the under 12’s an outstanding team next season.

26/05/10 TEAM MANAGERS END OF SEASON REPORT
Luke Berry, West Ham United Ladies Under 12s team manager presented the following end of season report at the club's Annual General Meeting at Upton Park last night:
Moving on from the success last season on the mini pitch, it was going to be a challenge moving to the bigger junior pitches. Changes were made during the pre season and new faces were brought in to improve the side. After trials were done, Aleah Headley, Shellie Sumpter, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Ocean Lewis were added to the side. Kelsey Kiely was training with the West Ham side last season and she was also added to the squad. We had friendly fixtures against top sides - to give us a test on what we can expect from the upcoming season - Senrab under 13s, QPR and Crystal Palace. All the sides had played on a junior pitch the previous year, so with that I thought it would be a great idea to play these teams and we did well and learnt loads from the games which lead us into our season. The start of the season went well for us as we were unbeaten leading up to Christmas and more important was that we were playing great football and learning loads every game. After Christmas when the bad weather hit we didn't have a game for about eight weeks and the news that we lost our captain Charlie Devlin to Millwall’s Centre of Excellence was a massive blow to the club and the setup of the team, but in fairness to the midfielders Aleah Headley and Amber Stokes they took on the task of running the midfield. We lost two games in January, which cost us the league, but the most important thing for me this season was to get the girls ready for the under 14s and get them playing the game the right way and I feel that we have done that. I feel that the players know their roles in games when we have the ball and when we don't. I can say that the defence knows the defensive line and know when to cover players and mark.
We finished the season second in the League and in won the League Cup final, which I would say was a good season before the season started and the football we play proves to me that it has been a good season. I know we didn't win the league and the girls were disappointed about that, but knowing that they have improved as a team and as individual players makes me a happy manager. I would like thank Tracey Duxbury who has been brilliant this season in the way that she has watched my coaching and helped me improve that and also watching the girls play and pointing out things that I can improve them on. I would like to thank Dave Maslen, Ray Wood and Jim Maycock for all they help during the season whilst at training at Beckton and coming to support the girls when they can. I feel that we were a great group of coaches this season and work well together in swapping ideas and problems and I feel that this made the junior section stronger. Lastly my parents need a massive thanks as they are brilliant and give me and the girls 100% support and they willingness to drive all across Essex to see their daughters play is credit to their commitment. Also their willingness to let me do the coaching on match days and not shout out at the girls and confuse is a massive help and helps the girls concentrate on what I have asked them to do.

Scheduled opponents Writtle informed Hammers manager Luke Berry after training late on Friday evening that they had been suspended from the Essex County Girls League as a result of their registration with another league and were therefore not allowed to participate Sunday's match.
Hammers club secretary Jim Maycock explained, "The call on Friday night was the first we heard of any of this and our girls now find themsleves withouth a game that they had no doubt been looking forward to all week, which is a real shame, but from our point fo view there is nothing we can do about it."

19/05/09 TEAM MANAGERS END OF SEASON REPORT
Ray Wood, West Ham United Ladies Under 12s team manager gave the following end of season report at the club's Annual General Meeting at Upton Park last night:
The Under 12s have completed their season finishing in a respectable second place. Despite drawing the top two teams in the cup, the girls still managed to reach the semi final. Having only 3 or 4 girls coming up from last season Under 11s, many new players had to be sought before the start of the season, only having four to six weeks training together to gel as a team before the start of the season, and with this in mind, they have competed well and worked hard through out the season.
Towards the end of the season we undertook a trip to Ireland to take part with thirty other teams in the Shelburne United Tournament which was a great success with the girls finishing 3rd over all and only losing one game to the Irish national champions.
I would like to say a big thanks to Jeff Richards for his linesman duties through the season and all the parents for helping out with the nets etc on match days.
I would also like to thank Jim for his support and advice throughout the season and of course my wife Jane for all her hard work, and Dave Maslen for his help at training sessions.
