West Ham United Ladies Under 14s won their League Cup final with a good win against a strong LTD side with both sides having plenty of chances on goal the game was a true end to end thriller.
The first half saw West Ham dominating the early play and getting an early goal from player of the match Aleah Headley. With the Hammers pressure being piled on the LTD”s defence a strong desperate tackle gave the West Ham girls a penalty, which Shellie Sumpter dispatched with an excellent low shot in to the corner of the net and with this came the half time whistle.
The second half saw a complete turnaround but this time it was LTD that were piling on the pressure, but some sound defending from Sarah Wilson saw her keeping LTD”s main striker out of the game, with the rest of the back line performing well it kept the Hammers in the game. But, with the pressure came a classic counter attack from the Hammers and it was Kacie Windsor Claydon that struck the final blow doing what she’s been doing all season firing home a fine individual goal.
Well done to the girls for all their work this season and with the league title still hanging on one result going their way it could still end up being a treble winner’s season.
