There can be no doubt that football is the cruelest game. West Ham United's destruction of Romford was total. The gulf in class was plain for all to see and the girls were as relentless as they were clinical. A minutes silence was observed as a tribute to John Greenacre, long time club servant. Even John would have marvelled at this display though, with every West Ham outfield player scoring. Obviously some got more than one, Jaidene Brown bagged seven with Charlotte Devlin and Amber Stokes both getting four a piece, Chloe Webster, Ellie Webster, Libby Patten, Hope Durrance, Charlotte Blaize all getting a goal each for their hard work. It was though overall a great team performance with every player on top of their own game. Special mention given to Charlotte Blaize who was outstanding today and finally got her well deserved goal.
Manager Luke Berry was as pleased with the performance as thes score, “We played a very good game if football today, the girls have been working hard after the defeat we had against Leigh a few weeks ago. I am glad that every outfield player got on the score sheet today for them as they all worked very hard to keep playing the football I had asked them to play. Obviously JD gets the congrates for a great scoring achievement but we are getting use to that and Charlotte Blaize was great at the back. I must also say that for me Libby Patten was back to her old self today, she was brilliant and worked really hard, she was one of many though and I could talk all day long about every girl. I was really proud of the professional nature we went about the game. Two games left and I am looking forward to them both.”
