The final game of the season saw the Vets produce probably their best performance.

Another scorching day and a hard pitch made the early attempts to get the ball down a bit of a challenge but Roberts took advatange of a decent through ball to strike home the crucial first goal.

The home side had a couple of half chances but failed to really test Hunty.

Meds had time to feel sick (conveniently when the air stewardesses turned up) before making a real tit of himself and getting knocked over by the jest stream of the nearby Flight BA1004 from Stansted. (2 yrds to the left and it would have been all over with dog muck).

Watling appeared as an unindentified roaming object at the airports control tower and despite several attempts to pin him down Kitchiner eventually limped off in disgust allowing Rich.T a playmaking midfield role.

The second half started well for Braughing and despite the oppositions reshuffle they could not create anything of note, their best chance coming when Lambo nearly lobbed Hunty.

Hunty showed his wealth of talent throughout the game, the sort of talent that shot Charlie Chaplin to fame in the 1928 silent classic "The Circus". If only he had the looks to match.

Watling scored the 2nd with a miss hit cross and Winkles added a 3rd with a thunderous shot into the top right corner.

Roberts added a fourth and completed his brace with a stunning strike and Michael, cooling himself in Taff's shade, poked in the 5th and final goal of the game.

Back in the Bar Burton deservedly retained his player of the year crown and Hunty picked up the Plonker award, before catching sight of himself in Burton's polished shield - not a good day poor bloke.

Keith was voted back in for next year - a reflection of how much we all appreciate everything he does - it would not be the same without you Keith !!!

...Until next year then - Cheerio x
