Mountfield Rovers 0
Whaley Bridge JFC u11's 2
Ollie Meads (1)
William Hajdu (1)

whaley travelled to the outskirts of Bramhall on saturday for the last game of the season to take on a very determined Mountfield side. whaley were dealt a harsh blow before kick off with the news that top scorer Mikey Seastrom and influential winger josh lomas were unavailable and with the game being a 9 a side game this left the whaley management with picking problems. will hajdu played a lone striker role and worked his socks off all game. alex vann had his best game of the season as he marshalled the whaley defence and nothing got past him.

whaley started the game very brightly and ollie meads was controlling the midfield with his driving runs and pin point passes. whaley were creating chance after chance but were unable to convert any of them, with will hajdu being the culprit for a couple. jordan barlow had the job of sitting in front of the back two and protecting them in which he did supberbly. whaleys breakthrough did finally come when captain meads picked the ball up on the halfway line and powerfully ran straight down the right side and blasted the ball into the bottom corner. whaley were back to their normal tricks when they a missed a whole host of chances this time joel barnet shooting wide and jordan barlow firing over. whaley went in at half time 1-0 to the good.

with some words of encouragement at half time after the dominant first half whaley were ready to put the home side to bed. jye currington was introduced at half time in place of george hill to give some power and bite to the midfield. whaley did as they did in the first half and were a constant threat on the break. will hajdu was moved out to the left wing and joel barnet was moved into a more central position and this seemed to work as hajdu pace was too much for mountfield to handle and created various opportunities. meads was controlling the midfield and was giving a masterclass in how to pass the ball. the seconf goal did finally arrive in the 24th minute when a slick passing move involving the ever present meads and bagley allowed bagley to square the ball for an easy tap in for hajdu at the back post. whaley played out the remainder of the game with ease and not really straining themselves. alex vann and callum vernon stood firm at the back and didnt let a thing past them.
