now that the season is over i think it is time to reflect on what has been an exciting and successful first season in charge of Whaley Bridge under 10s. there have been some real success' on the field over the past season and all credit must go to the players. next season will be like starting all over again as we move onto 11 a-side, this will be a step up and a big progression for the players and will challenge some of the 'better players' and i am certain 2 or 3 are good enough to go onto play at a higher standard.
with the squad only at a small 12 players and with Will leaving we are in desperate need of players. i already have had contact with a few possible signings but we will need at least 15 maybe 16 players for various reasons.
iam already looking forward to next season as these are exciting times at whaley bridge jfc with some of the best teams and players the club has had coming through the ranks. next season will be a huge step in the progression of the team and hopefully we can add to the squad to make it even stroger and bring some silverware to next season.
the presentation evening will take place on Wednesday 15th May at Whaley Bridge bowling club and is vital everyone attends. each player will receive a trophy for being part of the squad and then there will be 5 "special" trophies. there will be a number of tournaments throughout the summer which are a chance for players to put themselves on the map and show people how good they are. we will train more or less all through the summer to get prepared for 11-a-side.
